Our unique Shadow Leadership Team are made up of four children ( two from Year 5 and two from Year 6) who work closely with our Senior Leadership Team. They are involved in the strategic direction of the school and take part in monitoring checks around the school.

In addition, they give a presentation to our Academy Council once a term. This gives the children a voice on the Academy Council and access to the wider Leadership Team. The AC value this input from children as it gives them an opportunity to ask questions and get direct feedback from the children.

2023-2024

This year, our Shadow Leadership Team are Imogen and Amina.

2022 – 2023

We are a team of four children from the Diamond Learning Zone and two of us are from Year 5 and two from Year 6. We are Joey & Jessica (Year 6) and Amina and Imogen (Year 5).

Our role is to be a link between the children in school and the Academy Council and this involves us giving a presentation to the AC once a term. Sometimes we choose what the presentation is about and sometimes they ask us to look at something in particular.

We work closely with Mrs. Cross, Mrs. Green and Mr. Storey – the Senior Leadership Team. We sometimes do Monitoring walks with them to check on things around the school. They ask for our ideas, opinions and suggestions about different things going on in school.

We love our jobs!

This year, our Shadow Leadership Team are: Joey, Jessica, Imogen and Amina.

Presentation to the Academy Council – The Shadow Leadership Team gave a presentation to the Academy Council at their meeting on 29th November 2022. At a previous meeting the Academy Councillors identified that they would like to learn more about the Superpowers we have in each Learning Zone and asked the Shadow Leadership Team to give them a presentation on each one.

The presentation included information about the Superpower but also how and why they were introduced, how they build on each other and how children learn progressive skills as they move through school.

The Shadow Leadership Team also interviewed Class Teachers and gave feedback from children about what they think of their Learning Zones and Superpowers.

The Academy Council were incredibly impressed with the presentation and the confidence with which the Shadow Leadership presented and responded to questions.

Well done team!
