Meet our Happiness Heroes

Our Happiness Heroes are: Emily, Malachi, Amina, Riley, Ruby, George, Sophie, Katie and Lewis…

Origami Gifts

The Happiness Heroes recently met to discuss how we could help to promote good mental health within school. After generating lots of ideas, the children decided they wanted to make some origami gifts. They wanted to make an origami dog.

George said, “I’m going to give mine to Harry to cheer him up.”

“Thank you, George, I’m feeling much better now” said Harry after receiving the origami gift.

Wellness Washing Line

Today the Happiness Heroes decided they wanted to do something to cheer the staff up. We decided to hang chocolate from our ‘Wellness Washing Line’ in the ‘Chill-out Zone’. “It will make the staff happy”, Katie said. “Well done guys!”, Mrs Davies commented, “It really cheered me up”.

Playtime Leaders (PALS) 2020-2021

This year Mrs. Howes has selected the following children as Playtime Leaders: Emilia (Class 1), Oscar (Class 2), Jake (Class 3), Jake (Class 4), and Mason (Class 5)

The role of the PALS is varied and includes being responsible for helping the Lunchtime Supervisors during the lunch playtime. The PALS put out and tidy away play equipment and Mrs. Howes also gives them their own budget with which to choose new games and toys for the yard.

In addition, the PALS set up games and activities during break and lunchtimes to encourage the younger children to play and interact together.

Playtime Leaders (PALS) 2018-2019

Our Playtime Leaders are: Georgia, Bonnie, Tyla, Dan, Thomas, Aimee & Harry

Our Playtime Leaders are co-ordinated by Mrs. Howes who also co-ordinates PE across the school. The Playtime Leaders are responsible for purchasing play equipment for the school yard. They are given a budget each year and can choose games and resources for our children. They are also responsible for putting the games and equipment out at playtime and making sure it is put away safely at the end of the day.

During Sports Relief, our Playtime Leaders took the lead in running a whole school work out to raise money for sports relief.

Our Playtime Leaders work closely with the Buddies to ensure that children are not lonely at playtime or lunchtime and always have someone to play with.
