Here are some of the things that we have been doing…

19 June 2017

With all of the hot weather we have had lately, Class 1 made some posters about how to keep safe in a heatwave.  They found their own facts and drew some lovely pictures to go along with them.  Each group presented their poster during our KS1 assembly and they were well received by the reception children.

12 June 2017

Class 1 have been learning about the weather and each had a turn at presenting their own weather forecast.  Thankfully it was a sunny day in Stanhope, and I think they may have brought the good weather to us!

Wednesday 25th January 2017
Class 1 made some delicious sandwiches in class then wrote some excellent instructions on how to make a sandwich.  As a treat for filling up our marble jar, in mental maths, the children decided to take their sandwiches and enjoy them at the park. We made the most of the sunshine and all agreed that the sandwiches were extra tasty!
Autumn 2016
KS1 Christmas Party

In the run up to Christmas we always look forward to our Christmas party and this time was no different. We wore our favourite party clothes and danced to our favourite music, we even got to meet Santa himself! We especially enjoyed pass the parcel when we had to play pranks on the rest of the school.

Christmas Performance 2016: Lights, Camel, Action!

KS1 worked very hard to create a fantastic Nativity called Lights, Camel, Action!  Parents and teachers enjoyed the performance and all of the children were fantastic actors and actresses.

Highlights Exhibition

Year 1 had a chance to view some of the excellent art work created by paper at the Highlights Exhibition.  They made their own funny portraits by cutting out images from magazines.  We also had a lovely time enjoying and drawing some of the exhibits which were made from paper.

Jackson Pollock

We got very messy this week creating some Action Art inspired by Jackson Pollock.  We used cars and paint to create a wonderful giant piece of artwork that looks awesome in our cloakroom. We were covered from head to toe in paint but we had great fun!

Viking Boats

We are learning all about transport in topic this half term and Class 1 have been working hard to make their own Viking long boats.  They look fantastic on display next to our own replica boat.  Well done everyone.
