Here is what we have been doing…

Sport Relief 2018

The whole school took part in a Joe Wicks workout in the hall. It was led by our Playtime leaders. We were all exhausted afterwards, but felt good for taking part.

World Book Day 2018

We got dressed up for world Book day in celebration of our favourite books at authors.  In our creative writing we were transported into our stories!

We went to different teachers on the afternoon for a carousel of stories. What a fantastic day we had!

Chinese New Year 2018

We made Chinese inspired crafts, using lots of new skills. We had a Chinese banquet and were surprised at how much we liked it.

St. Andrew’s Day

Shadow Art

Christmas Baubles

We entered the Christmas bauble competition for the tree in Stanhope. We let our creative juices flow with paint and glitter!!

Children in Need

We supported Children in Need by dressing up in something spotty. We had a great time and made some fantastic crafts.

Highlights Craft

We visited the Highlights art festival at the Church Hall in Stanhope. We got to explore the different light installations and see what our year 5 and 6 children had been up to.

Nocturnal Animals

After learning about Nocturnal animals in Science, we made our own Top trump cards. We had a great time playing them and learning about the night time animals.

Science

We’ve been looking at bodies and exercise in Science. We carried out an experiment in the hall, to both challenge ourselves and see the effects exercise has on our bodies. We all agreed that maybe we should move a little more, to help keep ourselves fit and healthy.

Zoo Lab

Zoo Lab came into school on Friday 13th October. We had great fun touching the different animals and learning amazing facts about them.

Autumn Art

We used the Ipads to take images of Autumn in our school grounds. We then made Autumn art using the natural materials we could find. Finally, we used Pic Collage to present our work.

Stanhope show

Went down the street to visit the shows. We looked at all of the rides and decided which ones we were brave enough to go on.

Geography – map skills

We used the maps to locate different landmarks in the school field. We then used iPads in our groups to take pictures in the different locations. We then labelled our maps when we got back in.

Superheroes

We had a Superhero week. We designed our very own Superheroes and made natural habitats for them, masks and arch enemies.
