Supporting our local community

Last week, we were delighted to be able to support Jennifer and Carol in their mission to bake cakes for our local community including hospitals, care homes and food banks. A huge number of people in our local area supporting this initiative by donating money, produce, vouchers, ingredients and many other resources necessary to facilitate this huge project.

Below is a letter of thanks from Jennifer and Carol to show their appreciation:

Where do we start… Carolann Pattillo and I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts who donated ingredients / money for our baking day for the NHS ( 1½ days actually lol ) . We were overwhelmed by the response and your kindness. We all owe these special people more than we can say…

Today, in the EVERYDAY CAFÉ in STANHOPE, we have baked , portioned and individually packed everything. Fran Bergin collected it and will distribute it later. Fran will be putting pictures and a post onto Facebook later.

We would like to say a massive THANK YOU to the following people for their kind donations of either money or ingredients :

Stanhope Barrington School (£20 vouchers to spend in Co-op), Julie Craig, Jan Tinkler, Bob & Enid Hall, Gaynor Irwin, Andrea Parvin, Emma & Shaun Emerson, Pauline Gibson, Joanne Ward, Susan and Pete Stewart, Elizabeth Anne Stobbs, Ella Buchan, Sue Percival, David Hedley, Julie Percival (was Nicholson), Annabel Gascoigne , Fiona Gwen Graham, Lesley Richardson, Christine Craig (florist), Mollie Brown, Anne Hodgson, Lesley Nelson, Stuart Brown, Diane Garbutt, Lesley Blackett, Karen Usher, Coleen Emerson, Margaret Noble, Pat Cleasby, Alan & Jean Anderson, Margaret Parmley, Olga Parmley, Marie Emerson,Tracy Emerson, Lisa Watson and the lady from Rookhope (Carol thinks) with short dark hair. We are extremely grateful for all of the support we have received and are very sorry if we have missed anybody off the list, it was difficult to keep a check as there has been so many people supporting us. As there is still quite a lot of ingredients left we are doing another day (possibly Friday or next Monday for Weardale Community Hospital, Cross Hill, Doctors surgery and other key workers.

Once again THANK YOU.

Love Jen and Carol (Everyday Café).
