On Friday 9th November 2018 we held our annual Remembrance service in St. Thomas’ Church to celebrate the 100th Centenary of the end of WW1. The service began with our children reading and discussing what poppies represent and what they mean to them. Each class then laid their own wreath at the altar in church. Readings and prayers continued for those service personnel who are involved in conflicts around the world today. We listened to Imagine by John Lennon whilst taking time to reflect.
The Last Post (played by Emily Dixon) introduced the two-minute silence. The two-minute silence was then broken by Emily playing Ravel. The children were extremely respectful throughout this very poignant and moving service. Thank you to all of our school community for their support.
