Our Trip to the Weardale Outdoor Adventure Centre

Last week every child in every Learning Zone went on a trip to the Weardale Outdoor Adventure Centre. We wanted to share with you how our children and staff felt about the trip:

“This was a fantastic opportunity for the children in the Opal Learning Zone to develop their independence skills.” Mr. Storey

“I made a house for a hedgehog all by myself.” Clara (Opal)

“I am so proud of myself because I worked with Darcy to find all of the animals.” Charlie (Amethyst)

“The children challenged themselves and the world around them by asking questions and finding out how things worked i.e. the pulley system on the Crate Stacking.” Mrs. Howes-Jones

“I shared my ideas to make my bug house better with my partner, we had to listen together.” Henry (Sapphire)

“The activities linked with our superpower because we had to work together to climb the steep log.” Mr. Clarke

“We had to work together to shoot the arrows in our groups.” Wesley (Ruby)

“People were hesitant to do certain activities but when we got there they were resilient and tried it out.” Miss HP

“On the rock climbing, when it was tricky I tried and tried again.” Archie (Emerald)

“The Weardale Adventure Centre linked to Diamond’s superpower (Problem Solving) by challenging children to think strategically to solve problems for themselves and their peers.” Miss Hepple

“We were cheering people on when they went up the log and working together in the canoes.” David and Malachi
