2021 – 2022

Introducing our Junior Road Safety Officers…

This year our Junior Road Safety Officers are Aimee and Leo. They are going to be taking part in various activities across the year to make sure all of our children are aware of how we can stay safe when near busy roads!

Road Safety Posters

Aimee and Leo tasked each learning zone to create a poster (based around road safety) for their competition. After a couple of long days trying to pick winners, they announced the chosen posters to each class. Aimee and Leo have decided to put the winning posters around school to remind children of how we can stay safe.

Esther and Alex are our Junior Road Safety Officers this year.

As most of you know, parking outside of the school is challenging and this team work closely with the Police to ensure adults respect our children and each other by driving and parking sensibly.

This team also encourage walk to school week and the use of alternative modes of transport such as bikes and scooters.

Our Junior Road Safety Officers are: Lawrence & Jack

Our Junior Road Safety Officers are part of the Durham County JRSO scheme and have a meeting with a representative from County once a term. They work closely with Durham Constabulary to ensure safe road use and parking around the school site. They also run competitions every term for KS1 and KS2 children to raise awareness of road safety. At the end of each year our JRSO are invited to a presentation event at County Hall to show other schools what they have done at Stanhope Barrington CofE Primary School.
