Charities Team 2020-2021

MacMillan Cancer Coffee Morning

Charities Team 2019-2020

Our Charities Team work closely with Mrs Cross (Deputy Head Teacher) to plan events in school which raise money and support charities.

We work closely with WE Schools who run a programme to help schools support charities on a local, national and international basis.

Last year we raised money for the following charities: Stanhope Silver Band, MacMillan Cancer, Children In Need, Water Aid and Starlight Children’s Charity.

This year the team are already planning some spectacular events!

Raising Money for Save The Children-Friday 13th December 2019 was the national Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Save the Children. As always our school did us proud and we are delighted to have raised £75.05 for this worthwhile national charity.

Many thanks to everyone who supported this event.

Our chosen local charity – The Butterwick Hospice- Earlier this year our Charities Team decided to raise money for The Butterwick Hospice as our chosen local charity. The children worked with Butterwick to design and run The Rudolph Run. Last week every child in our school took part in The Rudolph Run which involved decorating a Rudolph mask, running ten laps of the yard and taking home some magic reindeer food (environmentally friendly – of course).

The event raised £223.00 and today (Friday 13th December 2019) Helen from the hospice attended our celebration assembly where the Charities Team presented her with a cheque for the total amount.

Helen was over the moon and told the children how their money would be spent in supporting others.

Thank you to everyone who took part and sponsored this event!

They are in charge of marketing and raising awareness of events through designing posters, drafting letters and text messages.
