Durham County Council are providing a ‘Winter Family Support Fund’ as a result of one-off funding received from the government.
Schools are now able to apply for a grant to support any of our families who are facing financial difficulties and to ensure that our children and their families have essential household items and clothing to keep them warm, safe and secure during the winter.
The grant can be used for:
- White goods such as fridges, freezers, microwaves etc
- Furniture
- Baby equipment
- Carpets and flooring
- Household electricals
- Other essential items including clothing, personal hygiene products and cleaning products
These grants are not means tested.
I do appreciate how difficult it is to ask for help but I would ask that anyone who feels they or their children could benefit from this fund does take advantage of this opportunity.
