Blackburn Rovers Football Coaches visit Stanhope Barrington

We were delighted that the Football coaches from Blackburn Rovers could work with our school on Friday 4th December 2015. They did training sessions with all children from Nursery to Year 6 and also delivered some lessons on the history of football, healthy eating and keeping fit to children in Key Stage Two.

In addition, the coaches stayed over in the North East and delivered a training session on Saturday morning which was open to all children in Stanhope. The session was well attended by children from school and ex-pupils.

In January we are taking a group of children to Ewood Park, home of Blackburn Rovers, for a two hour training session and to watch a Championship match against Brighton & Hove Albion. This is particularly exciting as ten of our children will be chosen to lead out the players and take penalties at half time in front of a crowd of 25,000 spectators.
