Oxford Reading Owl

As part of our reading curriculum we are recommending the additional use of Oxford Reading Owl to support your child’s reading. This is an online reading programme that has a range of books available in an e-book format, appropriate for your child’s ability. The books are the same as they will read from school, but offer the facility for the text to be read to them and sometimes have quizzes and activities linked to the books. Technology is a great way to get the children engaged and try something a little bit different.

The programme is free, but it does require you to make account to access the free e-books.

Reading Raffle Tickets

As you know reading is a vital part of your child’s educational journey. We have recently set up a weekly raffle ticket scheme to reward the children for their fantastic efforts towards reading regularly, (4 times per week in KS2 and 3 times per week in KS1). They will be entered into the draw to win a prize from Mrs. Cross’ basket.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Howes at school.

Happy Reading!!
