On Thursday 9th April (Maundy Thursday) the children of key workers who were in school were treated to a special lunch by Derrick the school chef – who is working with us from Wearhead Primary School. The lunch was wonderful with a main course of a very tasty mince pie with home made gravy and seasonal vegetables. This was followed by a delicious pudding of jelly and ice cream which went down very well. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal and it set us all up for the afternoon. Tables were set with yellow table cloths, place mats and napkins along with a proper silver service and name cards. Fresh daffodils were collected from the school garden and used as centre pieces which was a really nice touch and finished the tables off in style. Finally, Derrick gave each person an Easter egg for them to take home which was a really kind gesture and showed a touch of class.
