It’s December. DECEMBER! The Stanhope Christmas Tree has been officially lit, the children are practising their Nativity Songs, the Train is making its way to Christmas Town and Elves are loose in many homes causing havoc (pinching pennies, toilet-papering trees and gift-wrapping TVs to name a but a few)-I thought the Elves were meant to be keeping an eye on the children to report back to Santa but it seems that the Elves are the ones causing all of the trouble! Perhaps the Elves cause such a ruckus to make all the boys and girls seem like lovely little angels in comparison?
Anyway, the countdown to Christmas has begun, it is the season of Advent. Advent is the season observed in many Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas. The term is a version of the Latin word meaning “coming”. There are many ways to celebrate this special upcoming event. There will be parties, carol services, family gatherings, trips to the Fenwick’s window, Pantomimes and Nativity plays. To keep up with all that is going on at our school, please be sure to visit the calendar on the homepage.
Whatever your plans during this busy advent season let’s all remember to take some time to be grateful for all of our blessings at Christmas.
Happy Christmas!
