Now the Summer term is here, we have started our very popular Eco Club. In our first week we have started our ‘Potato in a Pot’ competition. Each child is given a seed potato and they have to plant it in a bucket and look after it until competition day. We then pull up the potatoes and weigh them. The person who has the grown the heaviest crop is the winner! Tom H. won last year so the others are determined to beat him this year! Good luck everyone.
We also started weeding the raised beds in the yard which have been neglected over the winter but are now literally springing back to life. Each raised bed contains a different type of plant e.g. we have a heather bed, alpine bed, perennial bed etc.
Our next job will be to plant lots of seeds and onion sets.
