On Friday 6th November 2015, Stanhope Barrington CofE Primary School held its annual outdoor Remembrance Service. The service was attended by Rev. Kent, the Church Choir, parents and relatives along with every child in school.
The service opened with a story told by the children about how one person can make a difference and work towards a more peaceful world. This was followed by the school and church choir singing Morning Has Broken and He Who Was Valiant Be Together, which was beautiful.
Three poems were read by Eleanor MacDonald, Senna Mattari and Callum Forster (who wrote his own poem and prayer for the service).
Each class then lay their own wreath and we held a two minute silence led by Rev. Kent.
It was a very moving event and the children were solemn and sensible throughout, showing their understanding for the significance of the service.
